Race Fees

We had a small meeting to discuss payment of race fees recently and the subject came up again at last nights management committee.

There has been a problem of tracking entry forms and fees.. This particularly applies to yachts.

We have agreed that the preferred method of paying race entry fees should be by Bank transfer. Sort code 72 00 03 account number 08765486   Reference  name of event and boat or skipper.  Entry forms should state that payment has been made by BACS.

Failing this entry forms accompanied by cheque or cash can be put in an envelope  marked with the event and name of entrant.  . This can either be left behind the bar or posted in the letter box. If left behind the bar entry forms and money will be put in a special box labelled for the purpose. Helen will collect these when she is in the club (normally twice a week) ,deal with the money and distribute entry forms to the appropriate class/event secretary.    Entry over the bar using a card is possible but bar staff will be instructed to write the name of the payer on the credit/debit card slip.

We want to avoid entry money being paid by cash or credit card over the bar, which tend to disappear into the general coffers..

I hope this is reasonably clear and will lead to  improvements. No system will be fool proof  and I don’t want to upset systems that have been working well up to now.

I would be grateful if class secs would include appropriate wording when sending out notices of race and entry forms.

The management committee agreed that there should be no increase in race entry fees this year.   The exception is for the Trebeurden race which I think we agreed should be £25-00 for YYC members and £35-00 non members.
