Great wines. Great taste. Great prices!

With an expectant yet relaxed atmosphere last Tuesday, the club along with the U3A welcomed Chris, Fred and Regis from WBS (Wine, Beer Supermarket), Roscoff who took us on a tasting journey through 17 wines. No less than 67 people had enjoyed delicious loin of pork with oyster, mushroom and cream sauce prepared by John in the Bistro, before heading downstairs to fill the ground floor of the club. Every seat was taken!

Look, smell and taste was the order of the day as Chris introduced each wine, telling us about the grape, where it came from and most importantly how much it cost and they were all very reasonably priced! He tested our knowledge with a couple of mystery wines – the Pouilly Fume was a firm favourite!

We’re hoping to organise another event in the autumn in conjunction with WBS, so look out for further news later in the year.

Oh, and don’t forget to visit WBS when you visit Roscoff – it’s the one with the big red London bus!
